Delighted to announce acceptance / publication of two new essays!
Split Rock Review, issue 22, Spring 2026 has just posted my essay called “Of Mice and Owls and Snakes and Humans.” SRR, based along the shores of Lake Superior, is a journal focused exploring the complicated relationship between humans and the environment. My piece muses on the network we find ourselves part of in central Kansas, from a mouse in the house, owls in the barn, and basking snakes, to our housecat taking on the mice.

Several years ago, WordRunner eChapbooks published a small collection of my short stories, Protected Contact and Other Stories. They will soon be releasing (mid-May or so) an anthology of new work, to be the last in their series, with the theme of Endings. The collection will include my essay We Will Sing, written in the sorrowing aftermath of my father’s death in 2024, in contemplation of his well-lived and well-loved life, and my own coming to terms to the world without him. I will post a link to information when it is released.

Hope you enjoy them!
How wonderful, Julie. I am very happy for you.
