I am beyond proud (“chuffed” would be the word of my British friends) to have my appreciation of R.C. Sherriff’s wonderful novel, The Hopkins Manuscript, appear in the Spring 2024 issue of the literary quarterly Slightly Foxed. I’ve been a subscriber to SF for several years – a lovely English mag devoted to older books, forgotten books, books that have simply left their marks on someone. Every issue sends me to the library to hunt down at least one book I simply have to read. So when they accepted my own offering, I was (ahem) over the moon. This 1939 speculative novel of a collision between the earth and the moon looks back toward the devastation of the First World War, out toward the rise of grave dangers in Germany, and forward with uncanny prescience to issues we are grappling with today.
Consider subscribing – every issue is a pleasure! The cover art is always an added charm.
